ooo not sure what you haven't read before, but I have a few suggestions:

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire
Secret Society Girl (2 book series so far) by Diana Peterfreund
Kite Runner by Khalad Hosseini
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern (sooo much better than the movie)

I'd recommend... the Valiant series, by Holly Black. It's fantasy, so be warned, but it's incredibly well-written, and fantastic. XP

Plus, the mood of the whole series is so cool.

There's probably five thousand more I could mention, but, as usual, I've forgotten them all.

Have you ever tried the "Thursday Next" series by Jasper Fforde? It's a crazy fantasy/satire/whatever mix with time travel and such, a world where famous book characters are really alive and behave not at all how we know them and much more weird stuff.
"The Eyre Affair" is the first part. It's good to know Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre", but my boyfriend also loved it, although he knows no classics at all.

I recommend The Talisman by Stephen King & Paul Straub. There is a sequel called Black House by the same authors, but I didn't like it as much as the first. I may need to reread it.

I've read this book multiple times over the years...since I was in high school. Don't ask. O.O
