Well I know you've seen Saved! but go for some other Patrick movies like Dead Birds, Spun, & White Oleander. And also, some Jensen screen time with a horrible movie called Devour.

:D

I've seen all of those (except Dead Birds).. and I own all of them except Dead Birds hahaha. :D

Well then there you go. Dead Birds it is. Hey, that's actually is my second favorite after Saved! I must admit. Mostly just from the weirdness of it. And possibly the hat.

I had fun capping it. Hehe.

Highway, But I'm a Cheerleader, Thirteen, SLC Punk, Son in Law, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, October Sky, Drop Dead Fred, The Skeleton Key, Murder by Numbers, The Little Princess (Shirley Temple version, fo sho), The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (John Travolta, yeah!), All I Want (uh, just watch it?), Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, & Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.

There you go. I just picked some of my random movies. If you've seen them, whatev (I tried to pick ones you might not have seen), but that's all I can tell you for now.

Have you seen Brokeback Mountain?

Oh yeah I forgot to go back and tell you that Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, & Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind are anime. If you aren't into it, you might not like them. But then again, they are the easiest anime to watch, I think. Well, maybe besides Fullmetal Alchemist, but that's a series.

If you want to try the one that is the least whacko, try Nausicaa, though they all have very strange concepts. Princess Mononoke would be next probably and Spirited Away last. It's my favorite but its also the strangest. (They have awesome voice casts! You can check out Castle in the Sky too if you like, but I didn't like it too much.)

Annnnnd Highway is your Jake Gyllenhaal/Jared Leto slash film of all time. It just oozes greatness. This is what we had to go on before Brokeback, I'm tellin ya. It's classic stuff.

Also, next time we talk, remind me, and I'll [attempt to] overwhelm you with reccommendations.

That's what's going down right now...

I just left you a comment about Chapter 27 and you should see that if you want. Some Beatles fans are really against it because it glorfies John Lennon's killer and all that jazz.

OMG: LORD OF WAR -> did you like that one?
i really liked it if that wasn't obvious.

Yeah I read on IMDB all these people saying to boycott it. But it's just like that movie Monster. It's along the same lines, telling the story of a killer.. I mean seriously, I LOVE the Beatles, but are we just supposed to pretend it never happened? What about all those movies that came out about 9/11, I didn't see people openly boycotting those movies (well.. I did, lol!)

Omg I LOVED Lord Of War.. just, wow. Obvs I just watched it for Jared, but It was ALOT better than I was expecting! :D

From: [identity profile] hang-nail.livejournal.com
Seriously.
I mean I'm sure there might be something out there would be something I'd rather not watch due to be sensetive about an issue but I don't think I'd ever be like "DON'T WATCH THIS!", a movie is just a movie!!

Yeah, I was totally blown away by Lord of War; I loved that scene when his brother comes to that shack and Jared is there and he says "look.." and it's the outline of the states or some other country. He was great in that. and ETHAN HAWKE is sextastic.

wow, i'm an idiot. i meant sensitive, not what i typed up there.

Yeah, well I wouldn't see any of the 9/11 movies that came out.. not because I'm grieving over it still, but because I feel like the film makers are just exploiting the subject, I felt like they were started writing the scripts right after the event happened.. But I didn't openly tell people to boycott it and I didn't tell people not to see it, I didn't even express to people who had seen it why I didn't want to see it. Let people make up their own minds about things.

Haha I loved that scene in Lord of War! LOL! He gets all upset when Urie messes up his county that he made! lol!
An yes, Ethan Hawke = yum!

Date: 2007-05-05 10:44 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hang-nail.livejournal.com
I totally agree about the 9/11 movies. I mean, I've watched movies on other tragedies that have occurred in the world but I tend to see those movies as experience movies because it has been a sufficient amount of time since the event happened and also allows for different perspective to come in on it (haha i want to be a screenwriter too). I don't think I would ever tell someone not to see a movie, it's their choice. It's like telling them what food to eat (ok-hypocrite: i only tell people not to eat mcdonalds).

Lord of War = ♥

[i've been rambling way too much in these comments! hahah]

I am getting caught up on my Oscar movies, and this weekend I watched:

Little Children. See this. You will like it a lot.

Notes on a Scandal. Good, not great. Judy Dench plays a creepy ass lesbo.

Half Nelson. Good, a bit slow. Ryan Gosling is great. See it if you haven't already, but I think you have.

And Alpha Dog was good. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh, and if you want to see a good Italian film, my absolute favorite is Cinema Paradiso. I strongly urge you to go find it.
